Awesome Note 2 App Reviews

Ive lost everything!

I dont know why today Ive opened the app and there was nothing at all...Ive lost all of my notes...Im so sad!

The BEST note taking/journal app. Period.

Hello, I dont often review apps. But I do make exceptions for exceptional apps, like Awesomenote. I have been using it for years, and it is quite simply the best out there. Ive tried many over the years, seeing if there was anything better, and I always come back. The simplicity, the beautiful gui, and customizable folders and rich text options as well as the ability to back everything up through Google or Evernote is all awesome. The ability to password protect it all or individual folders is additional control that is useful. I cant recommend this highly enough. I wish there was a desktop app as well.

Best `Note’ application available

Last time I wrote a review on this application (on the very first version released), I suggested implementing a tool to alter text styles (bold, italics, et cetera) and the developers definitely delivered in this second version! I am appreciative of their sensitivity to user input, unlike some other popular applications (e.g., as many have for ages complained, Tumblr). Its a great application, very easy to navigate and customize, and the breadth of options here is very nice: font size and style (over 10 different—and all neat—ones now); note background options; folder options . . . I really love how this application allows for the compartmentalization of different subjects, projects, or anything distinct, in to separate folders that can be thoroughly personally altered (as mentioned) through organization of their respective note overview, choice of folder tab color and insignia for each, naming of folders, et cetera. It does sort of crash some times (not blacking out, just taking several tries to actually open the application as it will start to load up then close abruptly), or freeze up for a few moments when switching between folders or notes . . . but these are minor functionality flaws that could probably be streamlined with basic/minuscule updates AND using the latest version of aNote ON the latest version of what ever device you have ... So, WARNING: Trying aNote 2.0 or above on iOS 8 or below will probably prove difficult as I cant imagine it processing quickly enough on the old systems—it would probably be slow or more glitchy (as with the bad effects mentioned, just exemplified). I would like to see it running more smoothly, responding more quickly and effectively to my navigating between folders and notes (which wasnt an issue with version 1). It would be cool to have the option for FORMATTING of each note, too—that is, buttons for optional indentation and such things as seen in desktop text programs. Also, I would like to be able to save notes as .PDF files or something of the sort. Thanks for the great application, guys. I recommend this application to everyone. I love it.

Terrible terrible terrible

Good design on the app and everything, but it has no security - ALL OF MY NOTES GOT DELETED!! The entire app was wiped. I had 100% of my notes in this app, and now everythings gone. Emailed support, no response. This app is NOT to be trusted. Your information is NOT safe. Dont get it.

Very impressive by it

Judging by all those bad review, I was expecting to be disappointed at this. But because my wife uses this app a lot I decided you use it again (after all I used to have it too). After all this years, this app only for better. Cant answers for all those having problem, but at least for me this app has everything I want: it does good in taking note, it is a great iOS reminder interface (with natura language), full view of my schedule day in one spot and a pretty useful calendar too. Not to mention that the graphics are very appealing. Lets not forget that you have a convenient apple watch app and you can password protected some task. What more could you ask for? Maybe a complication for the watch...? Food for thought!

Integration issues

Im a relatively new user. My learning curve was moving along nicely until a recent iOS update. Now aNote no longer is compatible with sending TEXT notes from any app. Photos can be sent but text notes can not. Daily to do lists that need to be integrated with work flow apps really need this compatibility issue resolved. Please dont take much longer to fix.

Im back!

Used this app for years, but after deleting it for a time, Ive restored it to my iPhone and iPad once again ~ iCloud sync is finally here and so is share to FB, etc! Some of my folders didnt move over properly but was an easy fix on the other end. Hoping that can be smoothed out. ALL notes synced perfectly and in the right location! Expands the iPhones basic notes by allowing the creation of folders to organize notes and ability to add an attachment. Also, iOS Reminders and iOS Calendar integrates with Awesome note. I love the colors, layout, icon & functionality of this app! Although "Recent" notes can be hidden from the top, Id love option for it to go away completely to give more valuable real estate to folders. The Calendar is awesome! Perfect day planner monthly layout!

Lack of true sync prohibits serious use.

If Awesome Notes had a true and reliable multi-device sync feature, it would quickly and easily take the place of at least 3 apps that I currently use on a regular basis. Unfortunately, it doesnt, which is a make-or-break fault for me (as well as many others, going by the other reviews here). Ive tried out an enormous number of organizer apps in search of one with just the right balance of visual and text, function and flexibility, and lots of options to customize. Ive found that the narrower the purpose for the app, the better it tends to execute that purpose (eg. just a calendar, just lists, just reminders, etc.) while apps that handle a wide range of information types usually dont handle any one of them especially effectively. Thats not the case with Awesome Notes, and I was very excited to start using it-- until I tested the "sync" (I use that term loosely here) feature. Its multi-step and prone to errors, generally unreliable and cumbersome. In fact using the term sync is kind of false advertising, as its really more of a manual backup, and not a smooth or trustworthy one at that. This seems to me quite a major omission given that most individuals have more than one device they are using. Maybe I should have taken warning when I had to purchase the iPad and iPhone apps separately, as a harbinger that there is no true flow of information from one to the other. Granted, the interface and features are really fantastic, but unless those features function in a way that saves me time (or at least uses wisely the time I do spend on it) and hassle, the app just isnt worth it. Im hoping the developers turn their attention to multi-device usability thats also reliable, as a top priority. If this were the case Id be recommending Awesome Notes to everyone. For the time being though Im warning rather than recommending, and for now Id rather keep using my combination of Wunderlist, Evernote, the native Notes, and Calendars 5.

Great app!

Totally worth the small chunk of change! This app is everything that I could have asked for and more! Everything is one place where it should be... Notes... Reminders... Events... Journal. Great job developers!

A+ interface but lack of true sync prohibits serious use.

They broke it!!!

This used to be a great app - one of the few I actually spent money on when it first came out years ago. I used it for everything - from shopping lists to diary entries to records of life events. This last update BROKE the app. I am now spending a lot of time transferring my notes and entries to a different app and will sadly be deleting this one. Good job on ruining what was once a fantastic app.

Update crippled it

Originally, I adored this app. I only wished for a word count option. But the recent update has caused a few issues. Namely, the titles of many notes can no longer be seen. Hopefully the bug will be fixed soon. I also wish you could turn off the "undo" on the keyboard. I cant tell you how many times Ive accidentally hit it and lost all my work.

Awesome Notes is truely Awesome!

Best To-Do-(and more) app ever!! Ive tried other apps over the years and I keep coming back to Awesomenote. Keep up the good work!!!

Disappointed

The contents of this app are supposed to be backed up so you never lose them. This is not how it really works. Ive lost the information twice now because I trusted the new version. This app was not worth the $4.00 I spent on it. I recommended this to a lot of my friends when I first started using the app, but I will never recommend this app to anyone.

Gif dont work

Cant import gifs from album and keep them as gifs. Need gif support To do list should support a grocery list with cost adding, total calculate and deduction with a single strike. Just like check list with cost calculator

Im impressed!

I didnt want to download this app at first because of the fact that it advertises that it can do a whole bunch of things when all I wanted was a simple note taking app. All I wanted was something I could write down my notes for school. I wanted lots of folders, one for each class Im taking. I wanted to be able to arrange the notes by date or alphabetical. I wanted to be able to underline or write in bold. And this is honestly the only note taking app I found that does all that. I was afraid that all the "extras" (pictures, PDFs, drawings) would all big down the app and make it bulky, slow, or hard to use. But Ive made notes for a couple of weeks now with no problems! No bugs, no ads, no requests to rate the app... nothing but what I wanted, a simple yet stylish note taking app.

Thanks so much

Use this application every day. It is the most useful thing on my phone! Thanks for keeping it supported & updated

Absolutely stunning!

I love Awesome Notes simply because its the most beautiful note taking app in the iOS Store, ever. There are many others note taking app and many of them are trying to take on the minimalist approach of having something totally barebone. Instead of following the others, Awesome Note went flat and yet keep the beautiful colours and tab designs as well as various notes background for different occasions. I highly recommend this app.

Cant live without it!!

This is my secretary!! It has all my grocery and shopping lists. My holiday ideas, Girl Scout ideas, songs, games, graces! I dont use paper anymore!! I always have my phone on me, so I have all my info too. Schedules, doctor appointments, set them for reminders. Love, love, love this app!!!!!!!

Bug report

Ive been using the app for years and thank the developers for making it awesome, pun intended. After the latest update, Ive noticed that the notifications are not in sync with the to-do list. For example, if I have a weekly recurring event scheduled for September 30 but check it off as completed prior to the day on which the alert had originally been set for, the notification still shows up on the date and time it is originally supposed to happen, even though the event has been checked as completed, and has moved down the to-do list to happen again a week from now. Furthermore, when the completed event shows up on the notification, and you click on "completed" to dismiss it on your Watch or phone, it pushes the event that already is scheduled to recur a week from now (because its already checked as completed this week), to happen another week out, meaning, unless you catch it (like I did) you would miss the entire next weeks event. Please fix this asap as this is a critical bug for people like me that have scheduled recurring tasks and depend on accurate reminder notifications. Thanks for listening!
